Gentle diagnostics and miniaturized therapeutic intervention under tomographic guidance

At the Grönemeyer Institute of Microtherapy, which is run by University Professor Dr. Dietrich H. W. Grönemeyer, M. D., in the Technology Centre Ruhr of the City of Bochum, innovative, micro-therapeutic and minimally invasive methods of treatment are developed and employed.

Aided by imaging methods, diagnostic and therapeutic micro-instruments are guided within the body with utmost precision thus being as easy as possible on the tissue. Medicinal and operative micro-therapy is employed for local tumor therapy, for treating slipped disks, for pain relief therapy, for reconstructing collapsed vertebral bodies, for the treatment of joints, and for the therapy of different types of vascular diseases.

In the field of diagnostics, microtherapy is used for the gentle taking of biopsies as well as for the non-invasive representation of vascular calcifications. The extensive scientific research is focused on the further development of microtherapy as well as on the field of bio-magnetism.

Prof. Dr. Dietrich H. W. Grönemeyer, M. D., who runs the Grönemeyer Institute of Microtherapy, holds the chair in radiology and microtherapy at the University of Witten/Herdecke and furthermore is visiting professor at Harvard Medical School in Boston, at Georgetown University in Washington and at Steinbeis University in Berlin.
